The Hidden World of San Leonardo

    The first part of the guided tour is a scenic walk through the grounds of the Estate: starting out along the alley lined with lime trees, with views over the guyot and pergola vineyards, the tour passes through the gardens of the historic Villa Gresti, and on to the centuries-old chestnut woodland along the ancient Roman consular road “Via Claudia Augusta”.

    The tour then continues with a visit to the ancient monastery where the winery is now based, including:

    • The vinification cellar and the underground ageing cellar;
    • The ancient monastic vegetable garden and the collection of early 20 th century classic tractors;
    • The church of St. Leonard which hosts a fresco from the 12 th century;
    • The visit concludes with a tasting of Vette, Terre di San Leonardo, Villa Gresti and the renowned San Leonardo, accompanied by a platter of cheeses and cold cuts from the local area.

    Duration of the visit: 2 hours
