Tasting Notes
- Genuary 2010 - Fine Wine - 16.5/20
- Deep colored. Attractive blueberry aromas with hints of woodsmoke. Plenty of fruit and firm structure too, the fresh acidità holding the fruit up throughout. Has balance and elegance, so should last well. Drink now through 2020.
- Agosto 2006 - Bibenda
- Vino di armonia, con profumi avvolgenti, di frutti di bosco, cacao, tabacco verde, pepe, macis, confettura di fichi. Poi è morbido, sinuoso, con tannini di seta e un gradevole tocco sapido; lungo il finale.
- Agosto 2006 - Guida AIS 2006
- Rubino denso, sfumato a bordo calice. Tracce nascoste di profumi lattici emergono per poi lasciarsi superare da aromi di frutti di bosco, tocchi lievemente vegetali, spezie scure in incalzante successione. Caldo al gusto, ha morbidezza in abbondanza mixata a un tannino ben sciolto nell'insieme.
Harvest Report
The growing year went as expected with the exception of a fairly rainy period during the first half of September, which did not, however, jeopardise the ripening of the fruit. The flowering period was excellent. The third ten days of May and the whole of June witnessed little rainfall (only 25 millimetres of rain in June) and an average June temperature of about 20 °C with 46% humidity. The harvest began on 26 September and ended without any unforeseen difficulties on 15 October.
Maturity Curve and Serving
A great wine, to uncork now or leave in the cellar. Serve at a temperature of 16 °C.
