Tasting Notes

Genuary 2010 - Fine Wines - 17/20
Deep of color, just the beginnins of turn on the rim (cf 2005), black fruit on the nose, with some interesting tertiary aromas starting to develop, the wine showing what it can do with a bit of age; ripe fruit, leather, graphite, and a herbal element. The emphasis is on elegance, but there is complexity and lenght with a firm kine of acidity and oak well integradted. Still developing. Drink from 2012.
International Wine Cellar
High-pitched nose combines blueberry, blackberry, bell pepper, graphite, dark chocolate and roast coffee bean. This displays impressive intensity on the palate while retaining noteworthy elegance. Ripe acidity gives definition to what is a deceptively powerful and fine-grained wine. A superb version of a cool-climate cabernet-consistent with previously outstanding vintages such as 1995 and 1990.
June 30th 2007 - Wine Spectator
A Bordeaux-style blend, with subtle berry and vanilla character. Medium bodied, with fine tannins and a medium finish. Soft and caressing. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Best after 2007. James Suckling.

Harvest Report

The growing year went as expected with the exception of a fairly rainy period during the first half of September, which did not, however, jeopardise the ripening of the fruit. The flowering period was excellent. The third ten days of May and the whole of June witnessed little rainfall (only 25 millimetres of rain in June) and an average June temperature of about 20 °C with 46% humidity. The harvest began on 26 September and ended without any unforeseen difficulties on 15 October.
